Anime and Manga rant ^^”

*sob* I just read the newest chapter of "Yumekui Kenbun", a kinda horror-mystery manga currently being scanlated by Storm in Heaven.
The last chapters always pushed me to the verge of tears but this time...I actually shed tears. The stories are so unbelievably touching/sad. T=T Myaa. Plus it had a kawaii neko featured in it so I guess that added to me feeling sad (*such a loser for cute little kittens >_>*).

On a much, much lighter note (let's take a 180 degree turn on emotions here), I can't stop loving Ouran High School Host Club. I bet the Manga must be really even more hilarious than the anime itself. I love the moments were the boys do all the wishy-washy standard bishounen stuff to get the rabid fangirls screaming and poor Haruhi stands among them, completely lost ^^"" Even though I guess this will eventually turn into a romantic comedy, I just can't imagine any coupling going on between Haruhi and any of the other guys. o_O"
Well I'm planning on dubbing this in German, we'll see how this turns out. Knowing how fast CDS goes on with productions I bet I'll be sitting on this next year christmas as well. *sigh*'

Oukaaaaaay…. Part II

For a more mysterious reason, I can access my web site again. O_o" I will not question this, and leave it as it is......

The internet is a most wondrous place....

I was checking my vanillae mail recently on the university network and noticed an important message by a fellow student, which I needed to download. So once I got home, I thought "let's download e-mails!" And for some weird reason, I could not. Well, that's not too strange...sometimes the server is down. After I was unsuccessful in accessing both my webpage and my host surpasshosting.com I started think "well, now this smells fishy". I googled the term "freenet dns problem" and I got zillions of threads full of complaints against my internet provider, freenet. According to them, freenet has some weird IP address which is not accepted by all servers on the web, hence the lack of access at home, but access on the university. When I read on, I saw horror stories of freenet not accepting cancelling of contracts or billing you twice the normal amount of cash. Now, usually that wouldn't frighten me away; after all not every provider is, well, great. But I used to have a bad experience years back with freenet, so I was ready to believe this. And besides, as you can see, access here, no access home. What's this shit supposed to be? O_o"

I will need to cancel my contract, but unfortunately it will have to run until June before I can do anything, which is quite sucky, because...well...until June, I won't be able to do much on my website...gah. So stupid.? In the meantime, does anybody know of a cheap german DSL provider beside Arcor? I am willing to try a lot. ^^"

Sewing Projects

Thursday, March 9th, 2006
  1. Spring/Autumn Coat, Gothic Lolita Style.
  2. EGA Black Skirt with white ruffle skirt beneath as shown in FanPlusFriend
  3. Winter Coat, Gothic Lolita Style. (I'm doing this as a summer project because wool will be cheaper then XD)
  4. Soi Fong costume w/ wig
  5. Gothic Lolita Blouse, matching my Black Skirt; something that can also be worn with pants.

For 1. & 3. I have done the designs and am currently trying to figure out a pattern. I am also thinking which clothing material I should use for 1. I was thinking of something in the sense of light wool but I want to make it a little thinner so that I can add some padding inside to make it warm through that alone. Any suggestions on that one?

Oh yeah, I nearly forgot! Leacon Piccies!!!! Not much but I didn't want to take more because my camera well....sux00rz major bad.

This is what it looked like most of the time....

The Weekend coming closer.

Wednesday, March 1st, 2006

Yes, this weekend I will be finally meeting Arisu and Ma-chan in Hamburg, amongst others and I'm looking forward to that.

I have completed my skirt's drawer's and I noticed that the back of my skirt is for some weird reason much higher than the front of my skirt O_o" what the hell did I do wrong there?
Well, I should actually finish off and sew my top part of the gosuloli dress and think of making my small hat...but..er, yeah.

Another thing that I need to get done by tomorrow is my roleplay concept for the weekend. Yes, I actually even bought a Cthulhu Keeper's Handbook for 40? (instead of spending it on the AnimaniA, but they didn't have it there yet anyway). I thought to myself that if I treat it right, I can always re-sell it on Ebay, lol.
The story's starting to become interesting as I read more about what should be included and what characteristics are possible if somebody knows a rite or magic XYZ. :)
I so can't wait to tell the story! I hope my friends will be cooperative and help set the mood. The one thing I am worried the most is that people don't understand the concept of this being a horror story and kind of barge into the adventure, getting themselves killed too easily. One the one hand this may be fun (especially for me, harhar!), but on the other hand I will be getting my players killed before they solve the mystery and everybody is bored to death because they can't participate anymore. I think I should set that straight before we play.
I have also been doing research on "spooky, atmosphere music". I'm kinda looking for tunes that aren't really loud, but can give you the creeps, if the atmosphere is right. I remember my Cthulhu keeper bringing music recorded from the outer rings of the planet Saturn. You might think it's nothing special but I noticed that it helped a lot in creating tension: this weird whale-like crying and alien screeching gives you the shivers if you imagine you are alone in a dark, dark room and notice something tentacle-like is crawling it's way to you.... :D
I tried finding it on LimeWire or eMule, but none of them really gave results. I think I just have to rely on all my OSTs on this one. T_T

On another topic: this inspires me to participate once again. After all, I actually made it to the top 20 with my Drama AMV that I had made for Lea (12th place means a lot to me, I know, such a loser T_T). This year, I hope to get to the top 10 and I will be doing most probably an Action AMV featuring Blood+ (I like the series a lot T^T) or another Drama AMV featuring Jigoku Shoujo. I prefer doing Blood+ because there will be a lot of material to use. Jigoku Shoujo on the other hand might be difficult because I would want to keep the mysterious mood that is implied in the series. I don't know enough songs that could do it (wait...what about "Sweet Dreams" by Marylin Manson....? :D )
What do you guys think? Which one should I give my preference to? If I find time in the end (I have time till July or August), I might do the other one, but it will never turn out that good as the first AMV I do because there will be less time spent on it.
